Transnational Access
- Physical Imagine visiting a remote station, experimental facility, high-tech lab or using specialised equipment. You will be physically present at the research infrastructure to conduct your research. That’s physical access!
- Remote This type of access lets you access resources and services from the comfort of your own lab, institution or home. Think of it as using powerful tools and data remotely, without needing to travel.
- Hybrid This combines the best of both worlds! You can access resources both remotely and on-site. Imagine using a powerful computer remotely to analyse data collected during your visit to a specialised lab.
Virtual Access
- Virtual With our free virtual virtual environment that allows researchers to interact with resources as if they were physically present. It often focuses on accessing and analyzing data or using instruments with a high degree of automation

Phased Service Releases
IRISCC services will be rolled out in three phases, ensuring ongoing enhancements and growing capabilities:

First Release (Month 12)
Provides existing, high-quality RI services from individual RIs, categorized for easy access. This initial phase facilitates the launch of joint research calls on specific climate risk factors.

Second Release (Month 30)
Offers integrated and customized services, such as tailored data products that address multi-hazard risks. This phase enables the launching of more complex research calls with a thematic focus.

Third Release (Month 40)
Delivers Knowledge Services co-designed with stakeholders to support evidence-based decision-making for risk mitigation. These services integrate elements from RIs and operational service providers, focusing on societal needs.
Digital Services
IRISCC provides open access to a wealth of digital services, including data products, analytical tools, and models. These virtual access services are readily available through the Catalogue.
Access Calls
At least seven thematic transnational access calls will be launched throughout the project. These calls encourage interdisciplinary research and promote the utilization of IRISCC services, including access to 70 installations, facilities, and platforms. Calls are planned collaboratively with service providers and RIs to ensure maximum utilization of available resources.
