D6.4 Report on deployed and launched IRISCC interoperability framework with guidance documentation for service developers

Lead: CNR

This report details the deployment of the IRISCC Interoperability Framework, built on the D4Science Virtual Research Environment (VRE). It provides a unified platform that simplifies access to data, tools, and computational resources while ensuring scalability, security, and reproducibility.

The IRISCC Interoperability framework is accessible via the IRISCC VRE Gateway, which serves as a central hub for researchers and developers. The Gateway offers key functionalities, including a Shared Workspace for collaborative file management, tailored Virtual Labs (VLabs) for IRISCC demonstrators, and advanced tools like JupyterLab, RStudio, ShinyProxy, and the Cloud Computing Platform (CCP) for executing computational methods. These features streamline workflows, secure data management, and scale computational processes.

Supported by a robust Identity and Access Management (IAM) system, the framework ensures secure and federated access using widely adopted and standard protocols. Integration with external services such as EGI Check-in enhances cross-institutional collaboration while maintaining a secure and consistent user experience.

The report also provides guidance for service developers on deploying customised services and containerised applications, enabling service developers to focus on innovation, fostering collaboration and reproducibility while addressing complex climate challenges.

The Deliverable is currently under EC review.
