New Deliverable Published: Landscape Analysis of AAI at RIs and Cookbook for Connecting to the AAI Federation
We are excited to announce the publication of a new IRISCC deliverable: Landscape analysis of AAI at RIs and a cookbook for connecting to the AAI federation that is under EC's review. This report provides valuable insights into the current state of Authentication and Authorisation Infrastructure (AAI) systems used by Research Infrastructures in the IRISCC landscape.
Key Findings:
- Analysis of Existing AAI Systems: The report identifies the different AAI systems in use by RIs and assesses their compatibility with federated AAI services.
- Cookbook for Connection: For RIs with AAI systems that are suitable for federation, a detailed cookbook is provided on how to connect them to EGI Check-in, the federated AAI service for EOSC.
- Recommendations for New AAI Systems: For RIs using AAI systems that are not compatible with federation, the report offers recommendations on how to set up and deploy a new local AAI service, such as using KeyCloak, that can be integrated with EGI Check-in.
Objectives:
- Harmonise access policies and procedures for IRISCC digital services.
- Facilitate easy access to IRISCC digital services through a federated AAI.
- Enable Single Sign-On (SSO) across IRISCC digital services.
Next Steps:
- Online Workshop: An online workshop will be organised to present the findings of the landscape analysis and discuss the required actions for each RI service.
- Implementation of Actions: RI service operators, supported by MARIS and EGI, will implement the necessary actions to ensure that their services are accessible through the EOSC federated AAI by the end of February 2025.
