D7.1 Published: Definition of Requirements for the IRISCC Catalogue of Services

We are pleased to announce the publication of a new deliverable within the IRISCC project: Definition of Requirements for the IRISCC Catalogue of Services. This report outlines the essential technical requirements for designing the first version of the IRISCC Catalogue of Services. The document is currently under EC's review.
What is the IRISCC Catalogue of Services?
The IRISCC Catalogue of Services will serve as a central hub for users, providing comprehensive and up-to-date information on all operational services offered by the project. These services address climate change-related risks and vulnerabilities and are accessible to users through transnational and virtual access methods.
Key Points of the Deliverable:
- Building on Existing Infrastructure: The IRISCC Catalogue of Services will leverage the established ISIA platform, already used to host service catalogues for other projects like AgroServ.
- AgroServ as a Reference Model: The AgroServ service catalogue, designed to provide access across multiple research infrastructures, will serve as a foundation for building the IRISCC catalogue.
- Integration with PASS Platform: The IRISCC Catalogue will integrate with the PASS platform, a centralised access management system used to manage physical, remote, and hybrid access to research facilities.
- Focus on User Experience: The report identifies changes needed to optimise user access and discovery of IRISCC services within the catalogue.
Technical Requirements:
- Metadata Schema: Existing vocabularies used by the IRISCC consortium will be prioritised when building the metadata schema for the catalogue.
- Access Management: The catalogue needs to accommodate all access types defined within the IRISCC project.
- Metadata Adaptation: Existing metadata schemas from AgroServ will be adapted to accurately describe facilities and individual services offered by IRISCC.
- Search Functionality: The initial release will focus on two core search filters: "System" and "Risk." Further improvements to search filters based on the AgroServ model are also planned.
- Integration with PASS: A technical solution for integrating PASS with ISIA is required.
- Service Provider Interface: An online interface will be developed for service providers to update their service information within the catalogue. Ideally, this interface will allow bulk updates via a CSV template.
Next Steps:
- Define mandatory metadata fields for service providers based on the EOSC model and additional information specific to IRISCC.
- Develop necessary adaptations to the ISIA platform.
- Implement a technical solution for PASS integration.
- Develop an online interface or a CSV template for service providers to populate the catalogue.
Stay tuned for further updates on the development and launch of the IRISCC Catalogue of Services!
